Week of travel

hobbitommWell, the week from hell is almost over.
It started with Warbands, of the rainyness other people have spoken at length. Sadly, bad weather stopped play, which was just typical- I blame the Bangladesh Cricket team for not being able to aim their prayers for rain effectively enough. The feast, as ever, was spectacular- though I would say that, I suppose.
And then we were interupted. Yes. The whole interview thing. An 8 1/2 hour drive from Edzell to Norwich. Tiring, but not insane- though I could have lived without the A1 being closed half way down Northumbria
And an interview, in Norwich. Went okay, I think, though it's not an ideal job. And then a drive. Just a short one. Only 6 1/2 hours, this time, to Swansea.
And another interview. Well, technically not an interview. A chat with one of the consultants, as the formal interviews aren't for another few days, but they agreed to see me early, which was nice- particularly as they have a superb burns unit, and a habit of appointing registrars from within their unit. And then 8 hours driving north again.
Which let me actually get clinical involvement for the first time in the week. However, when a shift is worth doing, it's worth doing properly- I was on call, so on duty 27 hours.
And I flew to Belfast, to stay with the wonderfully kind Paul and Catriona who took me in at the last minute, and did general ferrying duties.
So, another interview, which was okay- nothing stella, but I think I did okay- thing is, as the Registrar job, it's also the stiffest competition, which means I suspect I haven't got it. Still, won't know until Monday, when I can ring the other two. Then I flew back from Belfast, getting back to home in the evening
And so, to work... All weekend
