Grrrrrrrrrrr
Jun. 27th, 2005 01:51 pmThe University library here has a lovely habit, when your books reach a couple of weeks overdue, of sending you a letter, or more recently, an e-mail, reminding you of this fact, and that it might be a nice idea for you to take them back before you owe them more money.
Except when they don't.
Just had a very annoying five minutes on the phone with the library saying 'Yes, but you didn't send me a reminder', to be met with 'Our system says we did, so screw you, and the horse you rode in on!' (Or words to that effect).
I am now extremely annoyed with them, have paid them, on the grounds that some fights you just don't win, and when the computer says it sent an e-mail, then an e-mail was sent (regardless of whether it actually arrived!), but have also told them that in future they can damn well send me a proper letter. On paper. Because I no longer trust their computer system, but at least I can make it as inconvenient for them as possible in future.
